Exhaustion, Detachment from your Surroundings, and Reduced Effectiveness at Work*

Bijgewerkt op: 19 nov 2024

I hope you don’t think you fit this description… do you?

---

We all have those days.

You come home from work, faced with more challenges than "wins",

and you’ve had it. ❌

Work gives you a lot—but it also demands a lot from you.

And that’s okay.

But do you know what I’ve just described?

---

According to the WHO, these are:

💢 The three pillars of being overworked.

And if they persist long enough?

🕯 Burnout.

---

The problem is this:

Symptoms tend to creep in gradually.

What starts small grows bigger and bigger.

An unspoken expectation becomes the elephant in the room.

An unresolved conflict makes you walk on eggshells.

Often, you don’t notice these small steps accumulating until it’s too late.

---

Is it truly unavoidable?

No, it’s not.

And being overworked can be reversed.

But it starts with recognizing the signs—ideally before it escalates.

---

There are diagnostic tools available for this.

If you send me a message, I can provide you with the questionnaires. ✍️

---

Don’t forget: you’re not alone.

Friends and loved ones can often be your best indicators.

Ask them:

❓ What do you notice about me lately?

❓ Have you observed any changes?

❓ Do you feel I’ve been different since we last spent time together?

---

A friend of mine did just that and immediately raised the alarm at work:

“Something’s wrong.” 🚫

One by one, questions were answered with sharp observations.

By the end of the conversation, the conclusion was clear:

Things were much worse than they’d thought.

---

Thanks to catching it early, they managed to turn things around.

And along the way?

They strengthened their relationships with their boss, colleagues, and friends.

Showing vulnerability even brought them closer to others.

How beautiful is that?

---

I’m here for you too.

All it takes is a message.

Not sure?

You’re always welcome to reach out. 💙
