Let your suffering guide others

Let your suffering guide others.

📣 “Oh, back in the day, we just managed it all!”

📣 “It’s so much easier now than it was then!”

📣 “The new generation just doesn’t want to XYZ anymore…”

Oops, you’ve fallen for it:

🕰 Historical bias. 🕰

“The longer ago something happened, the more you forget the NEGATIVE and magnify the POSITIVE.”

Now I hear you say:

“But it really was different back then!”

True.

But that’s still YOUR perception of what happened. ➡ How you experienced it doesn’t mean others will experience it the same way.

In fact:

🤔 I’d bet that even one of your colleagues experienced it differently than you did back then.

And besides, you don’t know what your colleague’s life looks like now—Behind the scenes at work, or when they close the door behind them at home.

The solution?

Stay open and respectful.

🔸 Don’t forget what it was like to do something for the first time yourself.

🔹 Show them it’s okay to have doubts. Support them in their process—Especially in their mistakes, their “oops” moments.

Let your suffering guide others.

You never know what someone else is carrying behind the scenes. 💜
