We are fallible. Too bad.
But recognizing it already makes it better… why?
Successes. 👍
We all experience them and strive for them.
Think about the successes in your own life:
🔸 Achieving a new personal best in running
🔹 Losing those two kilos
🔸 Getting that one promotion
🔹 Pulling off that one challenging procedure
It’s a shame that mistakes and missteps were needed along the way, right?
Well, hold on a second:
🔸 How many mistakes were actually needed to get you right to that point?
🔹 Wasn’t it the trying, failing, trying again, asking for advice, and going at it once more that led to these results?
Was it fun?
No, definitely not. ❌
But if we had to recognize our mistakes in order to gain knowledge and insights…
—> Doesn’t that count as a success in itself? 👀
Bingo. ✅
This mindset shift is essential to breaking out when you’re stuck.
To breaking patterns and finding new courage and motivation. 💪
That’s why I work with my coachees on writing down their successes.
And we use different sources of success than you might be used to:
A “recognized mistake” also counts as a success.
It makes it possible to learn from it and adjust the plan accordingly.📈
Plus, this tool creates a positive spiral of action.
But more on that tomorrow.
