🍀 "Happiness = a favorable course of events" - Van Dale
Or perhaps:
🍀 "The ability to embrace life as it comes" - Zen
---
"A favorable course of events"—it’s in the phrase itself:
Only when things are going well can you be happy.
In other words, your happiness depends on external circumstances.
❌ Not the best way to stay in control of your own life... ❌
---
I believe that life is steerable.
Not entirely moldable, because, yes, things happen beyond our control.
But steering? That we can do.
And no, it doesn’t always come easily. That’s true too.
---
Still:
Having agency over your life is not only scary.
It’s also the most beautiful thing we have.
We must make decisions—and we get to make them.
➡ Isn’t that better than having no control at all?
---

This is why the Zen definition resonates with me:
"The ability to embrace life as it comes"
It makes room for the unexpected and the undesirable, yet still:
➡ We can handle it. 💪
---
And if we take it a step further:
So far, haven’t we handled everything life has thrown at us? 👀
How amazing is that? 🔅
---
Yet, we often forget this or convince ourselves we can’t handle it.
❗ Self-sabotaging beliefs trip us up far more than life itself.
---
Are you tired of overthinking?
Ready to take that step you’ve been putting off?
To actively pursue your own happiness?
It’s up to you to take the first step.
